A few centuries later, the rules for the game changed. Now the players have to push the ball not by throwing it into air but by rolling it along the ground with their feet not with their hands. The youngsters of that time start taking interest in football than other games like archery.
But there was a time when the game was about to ban due to an accidental activity occurred during the game which causes the death of a player. Because of the reason, Edward IV, the king of England has passed a law in 1477. According to the law, no one was allowed to practice unlawful games like dice, football and quoits.
The International Football Association Board possesses a proud reputation as having conserved the foundations of the game as it enters in third century. During the first international football match, players not only wore knickerbockers or long pants but bobble hats and caps too. These dresses were the normal part of the game and lasted well into the 20th century. When the first club and country matches took place the ball was not exactly round. A pig’s bladder was blown up like a balloon, placed inside a leather case. The skin was held together with lacing. The discovery of Indian rubber in 1860s gave the ball greater roundness. Although the lacing is still around today but it is not used to hold the ball together but it allows the players better grip the ball and throw it more accurately.
